Top of the Pops 2 S2016E01 - Christmas Hits

Welcome to this celebration of big hits performed at Top of the Pops on or close to the Christmas show on suitably seasonal sets. 'Tis the season to be jolly and it's not only actual Christmas-themed hits that recall the ghost of Christmases past but all the songs we bought and loved in Decembers past. Starting in December 1967 with a recently rediscovered psychedelic classic from The Rolling Stones and their 2000 Light Years from Home and ending with Coldplay's Christmas Lights from 2010, Christmas Hits include songs that peaked in Decembers gone by from Little Jimmy Osmond, Madness, Chas and Dave, The Shamen and many many more. There are hits that captured the enviable Christmas Number 1 spot from The Human League and Pet Shop Boys, hits that were just pipped to the post (guess who?), and perennial Christmas classics from the likes of Slade, The Pretenders and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
