Thirty-three-year-old Izzy suffers from swellings on her face and body, which are so extreme she often looks as if she has been in a fight. After almost two decades without a diagnosis, a chance encounter with a new GP has the potential to change her life. The film also meets 11-year-old boy James, who has severe reactions to sunlight - so much so that he feels his blood boiling - and former student nurse Beth, who suffers extreme dizziness.
