Sobrovtsy detain a taxi driver who sold counterfeit bills in stores. He admits that he worked for a man named Van Gogh. A murdered Van Gogh is found in the cottage. Three bandits who robbed the counterfeiter manage to escape. Firsov has a long history of hostage rescue with one of them.
