In Kilkenny Alice Kyteler was suspected of killing her husband and the Bishop was convinced that she was in league with the devil. Alice went on the run but her girlfriend Petronella de Meath met a bad end. Centuries later in Youghal, Florence Newton is accused of bewitching Mary Longdon. Florence is put on trial for occult reasons and has since been known as the 'Witch of Youghal'.
