The Amur thus nurtures one of the earth's richest seas. It's the massive clouds drifting back inland from the Pacific that have kept the Amur River's myriad tributaries flowing for millions of years. And it is from here, the Amur's estuary on the wild and rugged coast of Russia's Far East, that we set out on an epic upstream journey.
