"Media football. The Story of a Joke" is a two–part film about one of the most popular and daring phenomena in Russian sports. The main characters of the industry talk about the path from FIFA to the largest stadiums in the country, the debut in professional football and the transformation of a crowd of bloggers into full-fledged clubs with coaching staff, contracts and fees.

But building a new industry from scratch cannot be smooth. The league and the teams are facing a backlash from big-time football, and conflicts are raging within the community.
