In his native Staroozersk, the capital's chef, Slava Vinogradov, is waiting not only for his father, the head teacher of the local culinary college, but also for a real surprise - a son, whose existence Slava had not known for seventeen years. In order to get to know the teenager better, one of the college students, and establish a relationship with Vinogradov Sr., the fashionable chef becomes a teacher at the educational institution.
