The Six Gates

In the mid-Ming Dynasty, the old emperor (actually Emperor Xianzong Zhu Jianshen, played by Song Yuncheng) was in a coma, and the matter of establishing an heir was unresolved. Crown Prince Zhu Youcheng (later appointed as the heir apparent and succeeded Emperor Xianzong after his death, played by Wang Defeng) and "Prince Qi" Zhu Jianyi coveted the throne and engaged in open and covert struggles. At this time, a series of murders broke out in the capital. The court ordered the Six Doors (a government agency in Beijing) to handle the case.
